I’m BIRGIT VAN HEIJSTER, Master of Hairwork,
founder of SALON HAARWERK and the professional behind INVÉRA.
My approach to hairwork is built around one belief:
Exceptional results can never come from a one-size-fits-all solution.
Every head, every hair structure and every woman is different.
The way we work should reflect that.
I started by searching for a better solution.
My journey began with my own search for a natural hair solution. Working with existing systems, I kept seeing the same approach: one technique, one way of placing and one standard solution. But no two clients are the same. Scalp shape, density, growth direction, hair structure and personal wishes all influence what a truly natural result requires.
So I started developing my own approach, with every placement designed around the individual. At the same time, I searched for hair that could meet that same standard. When I couldn’t find the consistency in quality, colour and structure I was looking for, that search eventually became the foundation of the INVÉRA Invisible Wefts.
One vision. From hair to placement.
For me, exceptional hairwork is never defined by one element.
Hair quality, colour, placement, tension, weight distribution and
final integration all influence how natural a result ultimately feels.
That philosophy became the foundation of INVÉRA.
I developed the Invisible Wefts and my personal placement method
to work together, continuously refining both through real salon
experience. In 2025, this complete approach was recognised with
the DUTCH BEAUTY AWARDS for Best Salon Treatment Hair.
I teach the why behind the technique.
As my work developed, more professionals started asking how
I created my results. I realised that teaching the technique alone
would never be enough. True expertise begins when you
understand why you make certain choices for the person in your chair.
